Matriculation Certificate is a must for every Indian. The name and date of birth mentioned on this certificate becomes the permanent one for every citizen unless he/she changes his name by proper legal procedures.
The Matriculation Certificate is issued by the educational boards of the states or CBSC/ICSE boards. The student who has passed the final year of school examination gets the Matriculation Certificate from the concerned boards.
After the completion of 10th exam and subsequent result students get the Matriculation from concerned board.

UPSC also requires its students to adhere to the Matriculation Certificate for exact name and Date of Birth.
If you have lost your Matriculation Certificate, then getting it back becomes necessary. You will be required to go to your board office and fill a special form for issuing the duplicate Matriculation Certificate/Mark Sheet. You will be asked to write your name, father’s name, date of birth, and the year in which you had appeared for your board examination. You will also be asked to deposit fee for the duplicate certificate. There is no need to contact any illegal broker for this purpose as it is the responsibility of the board to issue duplicate certificate to you. They maintain records of every student. There may be a bit late, but definitely your certificates will be dispatched to your home address by post.
