She got separated from Janak and come to India in 1995.

Here during a business meeting, she came in contact with Senior Sahara Airlines executive Rao Dheeraj Singh. She got attracted towards Dheeraj and asked him to join her for some business works regarding a hotel. Dheeraj was then married to Anjum. However, soon it became clear to Anjum that Dheeraj is getting closer to Niira. Soon, Dheeraj and Anjum got divorced. That gave free hand to Niira and she called three of her sons from London. All of her kids along with Dhiraj started to live together.

Niira came to India as a Liason Officer of the Sahara Group. Somehow, she had made close relations with Subrato Roy Sahaha while in London.

Since then there was no looking back for Niira until The Outlook published the transcripts. She was seen making big deals and even fixing cabinet posts. Her hand was quite visible in the infamous 2G scam. She was also heard talking with the then Chairman of the Tata Sons, Ratan Tata.
