Dr. Shrikar Keshav Pardesi is a 2001 batch IAS Officer. He is internationally acclaimed for water conservation efforts in drought hit areas of Maharashtra. He is also known for being incredibly honest and an officer who can’t compromise on any issue related to the welfare of people. Obviously, he was shunted out, humiliated and transferred several times by the corrupt previous NCP-Congress Government of Maharashtra.
He was in the limelight as the head of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation where he raged a war against real estate mafia. His uncompromising attitudes against illegal colonies and land sharks/mafias created a sort of terror for the then Maharashtra Government. As a result, he was summarily transferred ahead of the completion of his 2 year fixed term by none other than Ajit Pawar.
It should be a matter of great satisfaction for general citizenry of India that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi handpicked him to work in the PMO. In the new assignments, Shrikar Pardesi is overseeing implementations of projects of five big ministries and reports directly to the PM. Now, you can understand the responsibility he is holding as well as the pious intention of Mr. Narendra Modi.
