Jisha: Profile and Cause of Rape

Kerala boasts about having the highest literacy rates among big Indian states. It has, there is no denying. But, there are also some issues in Kerala which needs to be tackled urgently and immediately. One of those stuffs is respect for women. Kerala is widely known for being a place where women are only seen as an object of pleasure. It is nothing short of a paradox that a state with such an amazing literacy rates is replete with male having no regard for the dignity of women. The recent case of Jisha is just another case.

Profile of Jisha

Jisha is a Dalit law student. I know it is really wrong to pin the label of caste to a victim. But, that is how Indian media portrays victims these days. Please don't add caste element in such an act which will put the entire humanity to shame.

Jisha is being touted as Nirbhaya of Kerala. If you remember Nirbhaya, whose real name was Jyoti Singh Pandey, was brutally raped and killed in the most heinous manner in Delhi. That incident had made Indians quite angry and even Manmohan Singh government had to take some action, like closing down Delhi Metro, to control that anger.

Something like that has happened in Kerala.

Jisha a brilliant law student was found murdered in her house in Perumbavoor by her mother who had returned in the evening after work. When the post mortem report came out, everyone was surprised. The attacker had first raped Jisha and then used a sharp weapon to pull out her intestines. He had inserted the weapon through her vagina and brought out the intestines through vagina. Now, you can imagine how brutal it was. There is more! There was not less than 30 deep cut on her body. She was actually stabbed for 30 times. Her chest was severed in two pieces. Both of her boobs were chopped off. It is really tough to imagine how brutal, ruthless and inhuman the attacker was.

Indian mainstream media has not shown this news. They started to pick it up only when #justiceforjisha became a trend on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook. Well, for Indian media the TRP matters and they can get good TRP by abusing Hindus in anyway. For them, Jisha doesn’t exist or the incident was just like a mundane case.

Jisha was living with her mother. She has an elder sister who is already married. Her father had left her mother long back.

Jisha was always termed as a bright student in her locality. She used to tell everyone that one day she will practice in the Supreme Court of India. Her colleagues and classmates at Ernakulam Government Law College also vouch for her sincerity and dedication. She was a lovely and cool girl. And, that is why everyone is surprised about this incident. Why the rapist was so brutal?

The Rapist

The consistent pressure by a section of media works and the Kerala Police has claimed that it has arrested the rapist after around one and half month of this gory incident.
The DNA has already matched with the culprit with that of found on the crime scene, and hence it can be said that the Police has a strong case against the rapist.

The name of the rapist is Amir-Ur-Islam. He is basically from Assam and had come to Kerala as a migrant worker. He had worked in Jisha house as a construction worker.

Is this line enough for victim, eunuch rapist, tyke media and poor police activity, if this thing happens once more with forward caste than whole media shown as all women of India get rape same day. this is shown the cheapness, tykes and vendible of media, Police and politicians. This activity is like a slap on the face of women politicians and women empowerment scheme of Government of India. We all need to show our anger to protest this and make environment no single woman again find the same. it is duty of all men of India who love their mother India, mother, sister and daughters.

  4. For a society which is too sensitive to Rape:

I stand by your side in condemning raping incidents. But Feminists wait a minute; why are you getting too upset on an incident that happens every day…! Unfortunately in the above case a woman was forced to have sex ‘against her will’. Surprisingly there are tens of thousands of Indian women who willing get raped by men…! They collaborate in having sex with their boy-friend/ co-worker/ living-partner there by getting in to premarital/ extra-marital sexual relationships…

So if I understood it correctly: In this country it is a crime to rape a woman against her interest. If someone does that; feminist all around the country will shout, scowl, scream in the media claiming that this is a stain to our, so called ‘traditional society’. But it will be perfectly fine if you succeed in attracting a girl, then womanizing her and then having sex with her, only to let her go after the job is done (or once she gets engaged to another guy)...? The media/ law enforcement agencies can only be nothing but be spectators here …?

I know of another Jisha who is a software engineer from Chozhal (kollemkoodu),Kerala. Now working in IBM, Bangalore. Jisha is in a living together relationship with her partner Janeesh J.C, also a techie. Jisha willingly gets raped by her partner each day. What do you have to say, Feminists and Traditionalist of this country…?

Get the “,!, OFF” your feminism and traditionalism & Welcome to Reality…!

PS: In NO way I support rape or murder... I am deeply concerned about the Values of this country getting fast deteriorated... Women: mark your target right and then shoot it down; don't shout aimlessly, if so your voices will never get heard.

    2. @jayabalan. Having a physical relationship willingly is entirely different. Both gender has physical needs and in d present world it is not dat big mistake to feel comfort in each other arms willingly. Pls don't compare with a brutal disgusting act like rape. If u start questioning like dis, then y can't u throw light on a few arranged marriages where girl has been forced to marry a guy without her consent and yet she has to consummate her marriage jus because of dis society. Been raped is one f the thing which can never be understood by a male. Raping a girl is equal to Removing d manhood of a male n make him to eat it. Both painful and disgusting.

  7. @Iraivi: You said "Both gender has physical needs and in d present world it is not dat big mistake..."; What if a guy, says that to a girl before starting to rape her...? Or in an imaginative case to you...?

Lady, this country has lot of Moral Values and a long History.

Even before doing it saying it to her, its still a crime in my view point and from others view point as she isn't willing for that to happen, if she was then she would have went up to him asking instead of him coming to her

    2. @Anonymous: I agree with you and that was What I had mentioned earlier, as 'willingly getting raped'...!

    Prayers to the deceased.
However, I'd like to tell the writer that he/she has not done much of a better work than the "media" that the writer is constantly complaining about.
First, the English needs polishing to say the least.
Next, sensational is the undertone throughout the article." ... BOOBS were cut off.." Really? Language and the use of the same make all the difference. READ or have someone in the media field read the article before you publish it on such a widely accessible forum. Have respect for the deceased. If you must, use medical terms. I am sure you'd not like it very much if someone wrote about your "boobs" or "cock" for that matter.
It is a public forum. I've tried to keep the criticism to the least.
I mus appreciate you creating and maintaining a Blog. THAT is NOT easy. So kudos and Good Luck.
