Arundhati Bhattacharya is widely regarded as one of the most successful businesswomen of India. She is an inspiration for young Indian girls. She is CMD of the largest bank of India – SBI. It is heartening to note than Arundhati is the first woman Chief of the largest bank of India. She holds a Masters in English Literature from Jadhavpur University.
Husband of Arundhati Bhattacharya
Arundhati had joined SBI in 1978 as a PO. She said that only one General Studies book was what she was required to crack this exam. After joining SBI she never looked back. Her scintillating performance in various roles compelled the SBI board to keep giving her position of immense responsibilities, like launching many new platforms and companies for SBI.
Arundhati never let lack of MBA degree come on her way. And, the credit of this amazing success also goes to her husband.
The name of Arundhati Bhattacharya husband is Pritimoy Bhattacharya. Had there been no Pritimoy in Arundhati’s life, there wouldn’t have been an Arundhati as the CMD of SBI. Pritimoy, a brilliant computer engineer, had sacrificed his career for Arundhati and his daughter – Sukrita Bhattacharya.
Pritimoy holds Ph. D from IIT Kharagpur. His dissertation and research thesis was given ‘excellent’ mark by noted Computer Scientists, Harallick and Resenfed. After completing Ph. D, Pritimoy joined IIT Kharagpur as a professor. He was considered a bright mind and quite popular in the campus. However, the job of Arundhati with different locations made couple think about their growing up daughter.
Pritimoy decided to leave his job at IIT- Kharagpur and shifted to Kolkata to take care of his daughter. First he started a company from his home and later launched it on a large scale when time allowed him.
He launched Techno India Group in 2005 and since then is the Director of this company.
