Eenam Gambhir, the dynamic Indian diplomat, made headlines throughout world with her impactful reply to Pakistani Prime Minister. This was the first time that India has used the option of Right to Reply in the UN General Assembly. The issue was to make world aware about the terrorist links of Pakistan. The first Secretary to the Indian Mission at the UN, Eenam Gambhir took this opportunity and made a powerful speech. She wrote her speech without any input. She intentionally didn’t use many diplomatic words. Contrary to the belief, the speech made a powerful impact and instantly Gambhir became a household name in India and Pakistan.
It should be noted that most of time junior IFS officers made news for wrong reasons. They remain away from limelight and do a sort of helping work to their seniors and in the process learning the art of diplomacy.
