The UPSC Civil Services 2015 result was somewhat unique. The first three rankers were – Hindu (Buddhist), Kashmiri Muslim and Punjabi. The result was a manifestation of the pluralism of India. The top ranker Tina Dabi had also become a controversial figure because of the way she had used reservation to clear Prelims easily even though she belongs to an economically affluent family.
Tina Dabi recently got married to the second rank holder Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan. The first ranker tied knots with the second ranker. Both are young – only 23 years old and the way they have firmly made this decision should go a long way in helping people get rid of divisive thoughts.
The love story of Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir is also quite interesting. It should be noted that both of them had never seen each other before cracking the Civil Services Examination.
Love Story of Tina Dabi and Athar Aamir Khan
Tina and Athar met first time during the felicitation ceremony after the declaration of the result. They were invited by many, including the Prime Minister. They used to go together. The chemistry started to develop during these felicitations ceremonies across India even before they had joined the Academy in Mussorie.
They became very good friend and came even closer when they joined the Academy. Both of them were little bit peeved by the comments made about them. Tina was disturbed because of reservation remarks made for her. While, Athar was not happy for some abuses hurled towards him by separatist forces of Kashmir for joining the Civil Services of India.
However, the major boost came when cadre was allocated. Tina had made Haryana as her first choice while Athar had given Jammu and Kashmir. Surprisingly, both of them were allotted Rajasthan – which was second choice of both. It was like God wanted them to see together. The allocation of cadre only made them easier to make decisions. Athar proposed Tina which she accepted instantly. The family members had also no problem.
Tina has posted lots of her photos with Athar on her Facebook profile. Majority of people are in support of her decisions. However, in any case, it is not anyone business to comment or be concerned about her life. There may not be any problem in questioning about her using reservation, but questioning her decision to marry a Kashmiri Muslim is definitely wrong.
It should also be noted that many Dalits are peeved with Tina’s decision. Many have congratulated Tina for being the first wife of Athar Aamir. Some Dalit students have commented that she is no longer their role model.
