Trust Contraceptive Pill is
one of the most prescribed pills in the Philippines and other South Asian
countries. Apart from being a potent weapon against unwanted pregnancy, Trust
is also used for the treatment of pimple breakouts and curing issues related
with hormonal disturbances (for example, irregular menstruation and PCOS).
How to Use Trust Contraceptive Pill
I have come across many
forums and met many users and I was surprised to know that lots of users make
mistake while taking Trust pill. It is quite shocking as there is very simple
rule in taking this pill. Please remember, if you don’t take this pill as per
instructions, you should expect to have some side effects apart from not
enjoying the optimum protection against unwanted pregnancy.
As you might know, Trust
contains 21 hormonal pills and 7 brown pills. You are required to take one
hormonal pill daily at exactly the same time. After completing this set of
pills, you may take seven brown pills. These seven pills are just placebo pills
and do not contains any ingredients necessary to ensure contraception. You can
even not take these seven brown pills. Althea, another big brand, doesn’t offer
these seven pills.
New users should always
start it on the first day of menstruation. It will ensure that they keep off
many possible side effects.
Taking it daily at the same
time will ensure that there won’t be any hormonal disturbances.
What if you miss a pill? In
that case, you should take the missed pill as soon as you remember. You can
take up to two pills within 24 hours. Please ensure to not take more than two
pills in one day.
Further, many users take
Trust as an emergency contraceptive pill (by taking four pills simultaneously).
It may save you from unwanted pregnancy, but you will have to bear with lots of
side effects. In this situation, you should always take emergency contraceptive
pill or morning after pill.
You will remain protected
from unwanted pregnancy only when you take one pill daily.
Ingredients of Trust Contraceptive Pill
Trust contains mainly two
ingredients – Estrogen and Progesterone. The amount of progesterone is quite
less here. Because of being loaded with both of these two hormones, Trust is
clubbed as a Combined Form of Contraceptive Method.
Side Effects of Trust Pill
There might be some side
effects, if you are new user. You should keep patience and keep taking one pill
daily. Over time all side effects, listed below, will go away. Following are
some of the possible side effects of Trust Pill:
-
Nausea
-
Vomiting
tendency
-
Delayed or
advanced menstruation cycle
-
Lower Stomach
Pain
-
Headache
As I have mentioned above,
all of these side effects will go away. If you are a new user, you may expect
delayed period. Don’t be in stress in that situation and keep taking one pill
daily.
Breastfeeding Women and Trust
As you know, Trust Pill
contains Estrogen hormone. It has now been scientifically proven that estrogen
suppresses the breast milk production. If you take Trust Pill while
breastfeeding your baby, your milk output will go down. Because of this fact,
lactating women should not use Trust pill.
