Deepak Anand is a
charismatic person. It is quite unfortunate that a man who has helped
innumerable poor students of Bihar has been mired in a serious controversy.
There is now no doubt behind the fact that he was deeply involved in the illegal
business of sand mining in Bihar while being the district magistrate of various
districts.
Deepak craked UPSC Civil
Services Examination in 2007. He was a Post Graduate in Philosophy from Patna
University. He was eyeing to become a lecturer. But, delay in NET examination
that year led him to attempt Civil Services. He cracked UPSC CSE in his very
first attempt. His All India Rank was 55. Being an OBC by caste, it was easy
for him to get home cadre.
Profile of Deepak Anand
Deepak was born and
brought up in Sitamarhi. His father Mr. Padam Sankara Chaudhary is a small
businessman in that town. Sitamarhi is one of the most backward districts of
Bihar. Deepak has seen the predicament of general masses since his childhood.
He was determined to change everything.
When he became an IAS,
Deepak started to work for social cause apart from taking care of his
administrative responsibility. He also ran a small group of Civil Services
coaching where free education was provided. That was like Super 30 IIT Coaching
of Anand. All 12 students of his coaching cracked Civil Services. In this
endeavor of providing free UPSC Coaching, another IAS named Mithilesh Mishra
helped him.
Deepal has also written
a book titled How To Succeed in Civil Services. The book is available on
Amazon. The royalty of this book is given to poor students.
In this context, it is
quite unfortunate that such a wonderful personality has turned out to be a
corrupt person.
It is said that after
marriage with Shikha Rani, Deepak started to earn illicit money. Shikha, his
wife, is from Godda. She is doing MBBS from Katihar Medical College.
I personally met with Mr. Deepak Anand multiple times when he was posted as DM Saran with my mother, but he never helped us, started shouting. The punishment is given to him is very lower he should be sent to jail.
