Roopa Divakar Moudgil is a 2000 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Karnataka. She is one of the most popular IPS officers of India in the contemporary times. Awards, News and Recognition: During college days, Roopa had won Ms. Davangere Beauty Pageant.

She has won many national and international accolades and prizes for her exemplary work as a police officer, including the coveted President’s Medal.

Roopa is the first woman IPS officer from Karnataka.

The former DGP, Prison of Karnataka had filed a defamation case against her for the revelation that Ms. Roopa had made against Sashikala. Recently, the Karnataka High Court has quashed this defamation case against her.

Roopa was recently in news for her catfight against Rohini Sindhuri, a popular IAS officer of Karnataka. She had levelled 19 allegations against Rohini. But, the most serious one was the allegation that Rohini had leaked nude photos of Roopa to three male IAS officers.

It was Roopa who had arrested the then CM of MP Ms. Uma Bharti in 2004 in Dharwad. That arrest had resulted in a riot killing six people in the district. That has also terminated the political career of Uma Bharti in MP and subsequent rise of Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan.
