K S Dwivedi is a 1984 batch retired Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of Bihar cadre. He was widely regarded as a police officer who had prefered policing through human approach than strictly going through rule books. Before retirement, he was the Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar. He had succeeded P K Thakur. He was recently appointed as the Chairman of Bihar Police Service Commission.

Dwivedi who was considered a tough and upright police officer stole the limelight in 1989 for his commendable work in containing the communal fire that had engulfed Bhagalpur.
