Yashodhara Raje Scindia is a prominent BJP politician of Madhya Pradesh. She is a former Lok Sabha MP from Gwalior and currently MLA from Shivpuri. She was also Minister for Commerce, Employment and Industries in the Shiv Raj Singh Chauhan led BJP government in Madhya Pradesh. Being a member of Royal Scindia family, she always remains in news along with her other family members who are indulged in politics like Vasundhara Raje and Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Profile of Yashodhara Raje Scindia

Yashodhara Raje was born in 1954 in the Royal Scindia family of Gwalior. Her father Jivajirao Scindia was the ruler of Gwalior princely state. Her mother Rajmata VijayaRaje Scindia was a prominent Jan Sangh and then founding member of the BJP. However, her brother late Madhao Rao Scindia decided to be with Congress because of his close relationship with Sanjay and Rajiv Gandhi. It is also said that keeping one member in Congress was a game plan of the royal family to keep good relationship with the Indian Government.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia started her education from Mumbai and later went to Karaikal. She was shifted to Gwalior to complete her education from Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya which was started by her mother.

Initially, Yashodhara Raje Scindia had no interest in politics. She was averse of ideas of joining politics and was even not looking for settling in India. However, a sordid end of her marital life forced her to return back to India where her mother persuaded her to join politics.

Jivajirao and Vijayaraje Scindia had four daughters and one son. Unfortunately, the only son – Madhao Rao – was a victim of plane crash which abruptly ended his life. Their two daughters are well settled with family. The remaining two are quite well known BJP politicians. But, these two have also their unfortunate share of marital lives. Vasundhara Raje divorced her husband Hemant Singh, the king of Dholpur, just one year after getting married. Yasodhara also did the same, albeit she remained in relationship for quite long duration.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia was married to Dr. Siddharth Bhansali. This was a love marriage and was solemnized against the wishes of her mother and other family members. She married Dr. Bhansali in 1977 and went to the USA to settle there.

Dr. Sidharth Bhansali is a very famous cardiologist of New Orleans. He is also known for his love for arts. He is a quite famous in New Orleans for being a very good doctor and also a patron of arts.

Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Dr. Siddharth Bhansali had two sons – Akshay and Abhishek Bhansali. They have one daughter, named Trishala Bhansali.

The marital life of Yashodhara Raje Scindia started to get into trouble after the birth of Trishala. The exact reason is unknown. In early 1990s they decided to get separated. The divorced was completed in 1994 and Yashodhara Raje Scindia returned to India. She came all alone without any of her children. She was completely broken. In India, her mother Vijaya Raje convinced her to enter politics and get involved in social work. She did the same and in no time has become a member and a prominent member of MP BJP. There is no denying that the main reason behind her quick success in the world of Politics is her being a member of Scindia royal family.

It should also be mentioned here that Abishek Bhansali was sentenced for four years in 2011 when he was found guilty of negligent homicide. He was completely drunk and driving the car. An accident happened in which a person was killed. Yashodhara went to the USA for the case and remained with family for few months. It is also said that the then Manmohan Singh government helped the family in making sure that Abhishek is charged with negligent homicide from vehicular homicide. That is how he was sentenced for only 4 years.
