Shera, Salman's Bodyguard: Profile, Family and Biography

Shera is the most high profile body guard of India. He is more than just a personal security officer of super star Salman Khan. He is Salman’s shadow. It is surprising to note that a body guard has remained in lime light for such a long time. Salman Khan trusts him more than even his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail Khan. It may not be wrong to say that Shera has elevated the status of Bodyguard as a profession in India.

Profile of Shera

The real name of Shera is Gurmeet Singh Jolly. He is a Punjabi Sardar who grew up in the Mumbai suburb. His father used to run a big garage in Andheri. Shera was never a good student. After completing schooling from Damodar Das Barfiwala High School, he decided to quit education and focus on body building. He was known for being involved in stunt and other dangerous plays since his childhood days.

Shrea took part in Junior Mr. Mumbai competition in 1987 and stood second. However, his attempt to become a model couldn’t go to intended destination because of lack of financial support. Then he decided to work in his father’s garage and side by side tried to open a personal security company. He launched the company named Tiger Security in 1993 and started to provide securities to Hollywood stars who came to Mumbai.

In 1995, he was asked by Sohail Khan to provide security to Salman. He took the offer and went ahead. And, the rest is history. Salman loved his cool nature. If you look at the body of Shera and his facial expression, you may take him to be quite an aggressive personality. However, the truth lies somewhere else. He is cool and never loses tempers. That is what Salman loves about him.

Since 1995, Shera is with Salman Khan. It is not routine to find a person providing personal security to a celebrity for continuously more than 21 years. Shera has given his life to Salman. When Salman was jailed in Jodhpur, it was Shera who remained outside the jail for entire two days. He was the one who received Salman when he was granted bail.

Family of Shera

Shera is married and living in Mumbai with wife and a son. His son’s name is Tiger – the name of his security company. It is said that Salman loves Tiger like his own nephew.

It should also be noted here that Salman’s Bodyguard movie had given lots of lime light to Shera. Salman had danced with a logo of Tiger Security on his shirt. Shera was also given an opportunity to make an appearance in the movie.

Shera has no plan to enter the film industry. Though, it can be quite easy for him because of the trust he has of Salman Khan.
