Relationship Between Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje

There are lots of rumors about B S Yeddyurappa and Shobha Karandlaje. A senior politician of Karnataka and once an ally of BSY had once gone to the extent of claiming that BSY and Shobha are married.

Interestingly, both of them have never denied this statement.

They are mum about one of the most hotly discussed relationships of Karnataka.

BSY is expected to become the CM of Karnataka. He wanted Shobha to fight election from Yashwantpur. However, senior party leaders of the state somehow convinced Amit Shah to keep Shobha out of state politics. She is currently an MP and these leaders want her to do politics from New Delhi.

WikiLeaks had released lots of confidential US cable. One of them belongs to BSY and Shobha. In the communication sent by the US Embassy, it is said that BSY lost the post of Chief Minister because of his GIRLFRIEND Shobha. Yes, the cable mentions Shobha as his girlfriend.

Shobha has always been a popular RSS face of Dakshina Kannada. However, she made an entry into the world of politics only in 2004. She was sent to the Legislative Council.

Interestingly, that was also the year when BSY had lost his loving wife in a freak accident.

BSY became all alone in 2004.

Did Shobha fill the void created by the unfortunate demise of his wife?

Shobha fought Assembly election in 2008. BSY became the Chief Minister. She was inducted into the Cabinet with a powerful portfolio. Within few months, she became the most powerful person of the Government. All files meant for the Chief Minister used to first submitted to her office.

Reddy Brothers started to feel isolated. They were instrumental in bringing the first BJP Government in Karnataka. They were behind the infamous Operation Lotus which led to full majority for the party. They wanted attention and power. But, Shobha had chewed everything.

Reddy Brothers revolted. Many senior leaders also revolted. BSY tried his best to save Shobha. But, later, he had to ask Shobha to resign to save his own chair.

Shobh resigned only to return in the Government after few months.

In the meantime, there remained ambiguity about the exact relationship between Shobha and BSY.

We still don’t know.
