Sowmya Reddy is the Congress from Jayanagar constituency, Bengaluru and the daughter of powerful leader Ramalinga
Reddy. She was the Congress - JDS candidate from this well - known BJP bastion. The defeat of the Saffron party is little bit shocking as the party couldn't get any sympathy votes after the death of immensely popular leader B N Vijayakumar. Sowmya is the only woman MLA from Bengaluru.
Sowmya is a rising Congress
politician. She has been made the Vice President of National Youth Congress.
Many analysts believe that her father denied offer to become a minister in the
Kumaraswamy Government because he wanted to concentrate on Sowmya election and
later, if she wins, propose her name in the ministry.
There is no denying that Sowmya is a
versatile personality who has deep love for environment. She has worked hard to
bring a change in the society. Unfortunately, she belongs to a party which oversaw
the crumbling of Bengaluru urban infrastructure in last five years.
