JPSC is coming out with
a huge recruitment drive for CDPO in August 2018. The Government has given
green signal to the JPSC to initiate the process. It will be interesting to see
how JPSC will proceed, as it is currently mired in a rather unwanted
controversy of JPSC Mains examination.
As for CDPO, the
Government has clearly mandated JPSC to recruit 75% of the vacant seats through
competitive examination. Rest 25% will be filled through departmental
promotion.
There is little bit
confusion about the eligibility of male candidates. In this recruitment drive,
male candidates will be allowed to participate. However, 50% of seats – with horizontal
reservation – will be reserved for women candidates. And, all promoted seats
will be filled by only women candidates.
It means male candidates
can also appear in this examination.
Pattern of CDPO Examination
You will be required to
appear for preliminary test containing two papers of General Studies. This will
be done to weed out non serious candidates. Selected candidates will be asked
to appear for Mains Written Examination. In all, the process is similar to that
of JPSC Civil Services Examination. The only difference is about the group of
optional that you may go for.
In a nutshell, this is a
big opportunity for all of you. It is high time when you should start preparing
for the examination as the entire process is expected to be completed before
the next General Election (April – May, 2019).
